Captain Morgan Deluxe (Jamaica originally)
Captain Morgan rum has been made for about 300 years. Henry Morgan was the Governor of Jamaica and began to cultivate sugar cane on his land. It is the largest selling dark rum in the UK and is the second bestselling rum in the world. Captain Morgan rum has serious depth of flavor, recalling the navy "rum rations" which went down so well with sailors, swashbuckling adventurers and connoisseurs alike. It is a blend of pot and continuous still rums from Jamaica, Guyana & Barbados and is aged in oak and has a dark, full-bodied color and distinctive rich taste that is unmistakable. It is dark, rich and unique in character, Captain Morgan ® DeLuxe dark rum is a premium blend of Caribbean rums, aged in white oak barrels for at least two years. This process yields a rum that is deep in color, yet has a subtle smooth taste. -
Ironworks Rum (Lunenburg, NS)
We create our rum using all-natural molasses from the Caribbean - imported by the Crosby Molasses Company of Saint John, New Brunswick, which unloaded its first brigantine laden with barrels of the sweet, golden-brown liquid way back in 1879. After weeks of fermentation in the cool cellar of our shop, the molasses mixture is distilled twice, bringing it up to 160 proof. Then we seal it in bourbon barrels made from Kentucky oak and take it back down to the cellar to age. We have to wait at least a year before we can officially call it rum. -
Kracken Black Spiced Rum
Kracken Black spiced rum is imported from the Caribbean and seasoned with molasses, cinnamon, vanilla and other exotic spices. It is a deep, complex rum full of flavors, such as chocolate and allspice. The name Kracken is a sea beast of myth and legend. -
Cruzan 9 (US Virgin Islands)
The distillery is located in St. Croix on the Estate Diamond. It has been run by the Nelthropp family since it was founded. It uses molasses shipped in from the Dominican Republic as well as from Central and South America. The rums are column distilled and aged for a minimum of two years. Cruzan 9 Spiced Rum is our aged rum combined with our unique mix of 9 spices including allspice, vanilla, pepper, ginger, mace, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and juniper berry. When all these elements come together, they create amazingly drinkable rum with a rich amber color and a robust vanilla, caramel and spice aroma. -
Mt.Gay Eclipse Rum (Barbados)
The Mount Gay estates in Barbados are amongst the oldest in the Caribbean, dating from 1663. The estate and distillery was originally owned by Dr. William Gay. Both pot and column stills are used in the production of the rums. The rum is matured in lightly charred ex-bourbon barrels.
In 1910, the twin phenomena of a total solar eclipse and the passage of Halley’s comet inspired the creation of Eclipse, a rum whose surpassing depth and complexity epitomize the art of Bajan rum-making. Lavishly awarded and highly lauded, this noble blend of single and double distilled rums has enchanted generations of rum lovers the world over. Eclipse illustrates the art of Bajan and Caribbean rum with its luminous, amber glow and distinct floral and spicy notes. Subtle and well-balanced, Eclipse can by enjoyed mixed, neat or on ice. -
Gosling’s Black Seal (Bermuda)
Brimming with spirits and bound for America from London, James Gosling's ship was becalmed off Bermuda. Luckily, he put ashore and never left. Soon the family's dark-hued rum became extremely popular. Before long, people were clamoring for the black sealed champagne bottles and the name stuck. For nearly 150 years the rare Black Seal Bermuda Rum was aged slowly and sold in restricted quantities. As the Gosling’s family has never been one to pursue volume at the expense of quality. Well balanced and nuanced with butterscotch, vanilla and caramel Gosling's Black Seal has a rich, intricate flavor. Impressive enough to earn the Beverage Tasting Institutes highest honor, the Platinum Medal. The Gosling’s family was pleased, but hardly surprised. After all, they've been at this for awhile. -
Plantation Grande Reserve (Barbados)
Plantation Grande Reserve is aged 5 years in used bourbon barrels and finished in cognac casks. Made from molasses and distilled in an old column still, at first whiffs you will discover deep scents that will include brown sugar, molasses, and vanilla bean. A truly lovely and sophisticated rum that is true to the tradition profile of Barbados. – Paul Pacult, The Spirit Journal -
Brugal Ron Anejo (Dominican)
A rum that no other Dominican rum company has been able to imitate, highly prized by both consumers and connoisseurs. Founded in 1888. Ever since Columbus planted the first sugarcane in the New World here in Santo Domingo, Brugal rums have been the premier rums of the Americas. And no one but Senor Andres Brugal could have created a rum as distinctive and fine as the extra-aged Brugal Anejo. Brugal Anejo is created through a blend of rums aged between 2 and 5 years. It can clearly be seen that Brugal is the best loved rum in the Dominican Republic. It is an authentic brand nurtured by the Brugal Family for 5 generations, since 1888. Light amber clear, clean and brilliant. • Nose – Balanced aroma notably wood and chocolate. • Taste – Presence of wood, pleasant and lengthy aftertaste. -
